We tend to regard spelling as something necessary and boring at the same time. Students do not like it because they regard it as punishment. Teachers, on the other hand, feel obliged to check it daily in order to follow their students’ level of foreign language acquisition. Unfortunately,
due to lack of time, fantasy or even drive, most teachers tend to just dictate single words. They often neglect to motivate their students so that they could be forced to study deeper. The way spelling is checked can change if we, as teachers, are willing to make the whole procedure a bit more appealing to our students. This is what I personally am hopeful to offer you by suggesting the following technique for checking spelling dictation.
